The Detroit Tigers have been drafting and signing high upside talent recently and their system is very heavy with prospects in the lower minor and most are a few years away. Only two prospects in our top 16 are over 23 years of age.
Below are our top 16 prospects with 2013 opening day age, position, and comments on each player. Below the top 16 is a small list of additional notable names. Enjoy.

All the context you need to know is that culture is highly correlated to the pulse of the baseball environment. Baseball is but a Summer poem and the beauty of the game, the LYRICAL aspect interlaces itself into the lives of fathers and sons, and daughters and America.
It goes all the way back to the beginning, baseball has been part of Amrica’s popular culture as early as the 1850′s, celebrated in art, story and song. The Beastie Boy’s have since their beginning have also had a close relationship to popular culture, been on top of it and pretty quickly put their mark on it. (more…)

The Detroit Tigers’ system is full of young projectable talent and a lot of left handed pitchers who are all trying their best to stick on as starting pitchers.
Next year’s Florida State League team in Lakeland should be a fun one to watch with most of the young talent either starting there or moving there at some point in the year.
Below are my top 16 prospects with 2012 opening day age, position, and comments on each player. Below the top 16 is a small list of additional notable names. Enjoy.

We are at the halfway point in the season, and many prospects have taken strides or falls in their development. Here is my midseason top 25 prospect list. Prospects must not be at the big league level, used up their rookie eligibility, and all 2011 draftees are excluded as well.

- Manny Machado, SS, Orioles
- Jameson Taillon, RHP, Pirates
- Jesus Montero, C, Yankees
- Martin Perez, LHP, Rangers
- Jurickson Profar, SS, Rangers
- Drew Pomeranz, LHP, Indians
- Brett Lawrie, 3B, Blue Jays
- Manny Banuelos, LHP, Yankees
- Jacob Turner, RHP, Tigers
- Carlos Martinez, RHP, Cardinals
- Desmond Jennings, OF, Rays
- Tyler Skaggs, LHP, Diamondbacks
- Wil Myers, OF, Royals
- Travis d’Arnaud, C, Blue Jays
- Hak-Ju Lee, SS, Rays
- Jake Odorizzi, RHP, Royals
- Devin Mesoraco, C, Reds
- Leonys Martin, OF, Rangers
- Taijuan Walker, RHP, Mariners
- Matt Harvey, RHP, Mets
- Gary Brown, OF, Giants
Some guys that just missed the cut for me are Robbie Erlin, Brad Peacock, Jason Kipnis, Dee Gordon, and Brett Jackson. I would also like to note that Mike Trout would be my number one prospect if he was not at the major league level.
A few players that I think you have to watch for to jump onto this list by the end of the season are Nolan Arenado, Anthony Gose, Nick Castellanos and Zach Wheeler.
