The Detroit Tigers have been drafting and signing high upside talent recently and their system is very heavy with prospects in the lower minor and most are a few years away. Only two prospects in our top 16 are over 23 years of age.

Below are our top 16 prospects with 2013 opening day age, position, and comments on each player. Below the top 16 is a small list of additional notable names. Enjoy.

No matter how much baseball changes teams still love having a big slugger in the middle of their lineups. The visual of a big walloper striding to the plate still inspires fear in the hearts of opposing players and fans. Although the Detroit Tigers already have Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder, two of the best sluggers in the game anchoring their lineup, they may have found another in first base prospect Dean Green. 2012 Detroit Tigers Top 16 Prospects

The Detroit Tigers’ system is full of young projectable talent and a lot of left handed pitchers who are all trying their best to stick on as starting pitchers.

Next year’s Florida State League team in Lakeland should be a fun one to watch with most of the young talent either starting there or moving there at some point in the year.
